Get to know - CBN

What is CBN?

The cannabis plant provides hundreds of cannabinoids and CBN (cannabinol) is one of them. However, unlike most cannabinoids, which are naturally formed through the cannabis plant's growing process, CBN naturally forms due to the degradation of THC through light and oxygen exposure. This makes CBN a by-product of THC degradation so you won’t find flower naturally high in CBN unless it's fairly old and has undergone light and oxygen exposure. But if you’ve ever smoked, dabbed or vaped cannabis, you likely experienced a small dose of CBN.

Cannabinol, or CBN, is gaining attention for its potential benefits related to sleep and pain relief. Plus CBN is a non-intoxicating cannabinoid, meaning it won’t get you high like THC.  This makes CBN a great option for people looking for the benefits of cannabis without a psychoactive experience.

The potential benefits of CBN include as a sleep aid, anti-inflammatory, and antibacterial. Those benefits apply whether CBN is ingested, smoked, vaped, or even applied topically!

Final Thoughts

While research on CBN is still in its early stages, its potential benefits—especially for sleep—make it an intriguing option for those looking to enhance their wellness routine. Many people find it effective to take CBN in the evening, especially when paired with other relaxing cannabinoids like our equalized ratio tinctures. As always, consult with a healthcare professional before adding any new supplement to your regimen.
